During a magnifcent journey of cosmic exploration, a vast feet accidentally stumbled upon a mysterious unknown planet. The environment here was extremely harsh, as arid conditions made breathing difcult, and relentless sandstorms obscured the skies, turning the area into a seemingly lifeless wasteland. Yet, against all odds, the surviving crew members managed to endure, thanks to the advanced equipment left behind from the wreckage of their spaceship.As time passed, they discovered with delight that this desolate planet was actually brimming with endless treasures, like a glittering pearl hidden deep within the cosmos. Driven by greed, the crew began constructing their own settlement, envisioning the extraction of these riches and forging a legendary tale of wealth.However, amidst this land flled with allure, another group responsible for exploration sensed a lurking danger. They realized that this planet had long been shrouded in a mysterious and powerful unknown force, akin to a labyrinth flled with countless secrets. This enigmatic power quietly pervaded the area, waiting for its moment to unfold...

This place is the core area of the tribe, where an emergency landing of a spaceship once took place. After successfully landing, the crew ingeniously utilized the remaining energy and existing facilities on the spaceship to meticulously transform this land. They tailored their efforts to the terrain, leveraging their creativity to construct comfortable dwellings using uniquely shaped stone umbrellas, thereby establishing a solid base for themselves. From here, they were able to venture into exploring the surrounding regions. It's worth noting that the terrain in this area is extremely rugged, and beneath the clifs, there seems to be an inexhaustible supply of rare resources.

Main Tribal Area

This is a secondary region where the scarcity of rare resources is evident. Nevertheless, the inhabitants have ingeniously utilized the natural stone blocks to their advantage, allowing them to construct buildings that are cleverly concealed beneath these rocky overhangs. This not only provides a degree of camoufage but also ofers protection from the harsh elements and potential threats that lurk above. As a result, this area, though less prosperous in terms of rare resources, has become a hidden sanctuary for those seeking solace and security amidst the surrounding chaos.

Secondary Tribal Area

On this planet, after the first rulers conquered nature and established order, they decided to build a spiritual temple dedicated exclusively to themselves. This temple is not just a building, but also a symbol. The temple aims to eternally commemorate their great achievements and fearless courage in exploring the universe, while also showcasing a new futuristic architectural design style

Celestial Glory Hall

Ever since humans set foot on this planet and began extracting resources at an unprecedented rate, the ground beneath this land has frequently emitted eerie vibrations and noises, with increasing frequency. Driven by curiosity, some of the exploratory team members ventured deep underground, only to discover what seemed to be an ancient species that had long made this place their home. The arrival of humans appeared to have awakened these creatures, stirring them from their slumber.

Under The Ground

The Whispering Wall As the explorers delved deeper, they discovered The Whispering Wall. The thick central trunk resembled a massive spine, extending countless slender tendrils that flickered with a faint glow, as if whispering some secret. They could faintly see the internal roots of the plants glowing, as if harboring boundless energy.As the explorers approached, the plants seemed to sense their presence; the faint glow began to ficker more brightly, and the tendrils gently swayed, as if responding to their arrival. A chill ran through the explorers, as if an invisible force was watching them.

The Whispering Wall

At the initial stage, I already had a clear vision in my mind that the main building would be tilted and embedded into the cliffside. Therefore, during the silhouette exploration, I consistently considered this as a crucial design element. On the left are some silhouette explorations, and on the right are line drawing proposals based on some of the silhouette designs.

For the secondary buildings of the tribe, I adopted the same methodology, ensuring consistency and coherence in the overall architectural vision. This approach allowed me to create a harmonious blend of form and function, resulting in a cohesive and visually appealing design.

Life Path of "The Egg"

After establishing the composition and the design of the main subject with sketches, I proceed to build the scene in 3D and immediately start experimenting with diferent lighting setups. I believe that light is a vital element in the entire scene, as varying lighting conditions can signifcantly change the atmosphere and emotion of the image. Moreover, determining the lighting scheme early on greatly enhances production efficiency. For instance, areas illuminated by light can be given more attention to detail, allowing for a more refned and polished fnal painting.

Using line drawings allows for a quick verifcation of whether the storytelling and composition are well-matched. Sometimes, I also experiment with compositions using simple shapes in 3D, but this depends on how much time I am willing to invest in it. Generally working in 2D is faster.

This is the three-view drawing of the main building, which is derived from one of the sketch proposals shown above. I further refined the design of the sketch in Blender, incorporating additional ideas during the modeling process. Its functions include resource collection, trading, and storage of supplies, and it also serves as a gathering place for the people living here.
